With only one sleep (please God let it be a good one) until the MS 24 Hour Swimathon, I want to take this opportunity to send a huge thank you to everybody who has sponsored me so far.

My fundraising goal started at $3000 which was quite ambitious, but I changed it to $4000 and then $4500 this week, in the great hope that I can raise that to give immediate help to MS sufferers and hopefully to help develop a permanent cure. 

Your enormous generosity will help to achieve these goals. 

Donations can continue throughout the weekend. We start swimming at midday tomorrow and will be quite relieved to take our last stroke at midday on Sunday. 

I adopted the MS cause in my first year of high school in 2011, because I am a swimmer and this is how I can help our world.

Five Australians were diagnosed with MS today. In fact, five are diganosed every day - statistically they are most likely to be young women. I hope that statistic is lowered by the time I am asking for your support again this time next year.

How exciting!

I've signed up again for the MS Swimathon in Cairns this year! I am swimming to raise funds for people living with multiple sclerosis (MS).

I really am excited, even though I remember how cold it was and how hard it was to keep swimming through the 24 hours last year. The older boys in our team swam through the coldest late night and early morning hours - they really were gentlemen - and the MS participants were the greatest inspiration to all of us.

A big thank you to everybody who supported my team and me - both morally and financially. We are out there again and seeking your support again please. My personal goal is to raise $4000 for MS and our team goal is to break the Australian record for most kilometres swum.  

MS is the most common disease of the central nervous system and affects more than 21,000 Australians.

• Today five more Australians will be told they have multiple sclerosis
• The average age of diagnosis of MS is just 30 years
• MS affects three times as many women as men

The MS goal is to assist everyone affected by MS to live life to their fullest potential and secure the care and support they need, until we ultimately find a cure.
